Day 1. ARRIVAL IN TASHKENT UZBEKISTAN
Your driver and guide will meet you at the International Airport of Tashkent. Following your flight schedule, you can go to have some rest at your hotel first and then start sightseeing in Tashkent. Your driver and guide will be available from 9 am to 6 pm daily to accompany you during all your visits daily.
Best places of Tashkent for a guided tour: Khastimam complex in the old Tashkent, the bazaar Chorsu, the metro of Tashkent, the place of Independence (especially the memorial for the victims of World War II), and park Amir Temur. If you like museums, you can go to the Museum of History or to the Museum of Applied Arts.
Day 2. DRIVE TO SAMARKAND (290km)
Drive to Samarkand through the steppes of Hunger. Arrive in Samarkand by 13:00. You can dedicate the second part of your day to start visiting Samarkand city with your driver and guide.
In the afternoon, we recommend you visiting the mausoleum of Amur Temur – Gur-Emir, and the place of Registan. These 2 visits will be great to have the first impressions about Tashkent.
Day 3. EXPLORE SAMARKAND
Full day to visit majestic Samarkand. Decide which attractions you want to explore and let your driver and guide sow you the best of this Silk Road city.
The top places for guided visits in Samarkand: the mosque Bibi-Khanum, the necropolis Shakhi-Zinda, the observatory of Ulughbeg, St. Daniel’s mausoleum, Afrosiyob Museum of History, and Samarkand Silk Paper workshop.
Day 4. THE REST OF SAMARKAND
The monuments of Samarkand are so big and so rich, one full day may not be enough to fully enjoy it. Today you can go to your unvisited attraction or trust your guide and driver to take you to some original-and-less-visited places of the city.
Options: If you are an enthusiast about markets, we can recommend you going 40 kilometers far from Samarkand to visit the bazaar of Urgut. The other option is making a day trip from Samarkand to the city of Shahrisabz.
Day 5. DRIVE SAMARKAND – BUKHARA (277km)
Private drive to Bukhara through the Navoi region. Visit some examples of Silk Road architecture on the road.
You will arrive in Bukhara by lunchtime. In the afternoon, you can start sightseeing around the Lyabi Khauz complex – the heart of the old Bukhara.
Day 6. BUKHARA, the old city
The center of Bukhara is quite large and you will take one full day to visit it. Your guide and driver will help you choose and visit the right monument at the right part of the day in order to enjoy the best light for taking the best photos.
The best places to visit in Bukhara: the mausoleum of Samanids, the mosque Bolo Khauz with its beautiful wooden columns, the Citadel Ark, the Kalon complex, the oldest mosque of Bukhara – Magoki Attori, the madrasa Abdulaziz and the ancient trade centers of Bukhara.
Day 7. BUKHARA, the palaces
During your second day in Bukhara, you can go a bit far from the center of the city to visit the monuments located outside the center of Bukhara: Summer Palace of the last emirs Bukhara, and the necropolis Naqshbandi. If you take some free time in the afternoon you will love walking in the narrow streets, visiting craft shops or teahouses of Bukhara.
Day 8. DRIVE BUKHARA – KHIVA (450km)
Enjoy driving to Khiva through the desert just like the ancient caravans of the Silk Road.
Day 9. KHIVA, ICHAN KALA (on foot)
The Ichan Kala citadel in Khiva is the first place in Central Asia which was listed as a UNESCO heritage site. The citadel is doubtlessly one of the top places to visit in Uzbekistan with over 200 monuments within the ancient city walls.
There are so many places to see in the citadel of Khiva and your guide will make sure that you visit all the top places of the city.
Day 10. DRIVE KHIVA - NUKUS (175km)
Drive to Ellik Kala district to visit some of the citadels of the ancient Khorezmian Empire. Some of these ruined citadels are well conserved though they have been built over 2000 years ago. After visiting the ancient citadels you can return stay overnight in nomadic tents at the Ayaz Kala Yurt camp near Ayaz Kala citadel or continue the drive and stay in Nukus.
Day 11. NUKUS – ARAL SEA (410km)
Drive towards the Aral Sea (Muynaq) to see the graveyard of the boats of the Aral Sea. If your timing permits you can also visit the Mizdakan complex and Gaur Kala citadels on the road. In the evening your guide and driver will transfer you to the domestic airport of Nukus to take a flight for Tashkent.
Day 12. THANK YOU AND GOODBYE
Departure from Tashkent
You will have another driver in Tashkent to take you to the international airport in Tashkent in the morning.
