Day 1: ARRIVE TASHKENT, SIGHTSEEING

 

On arrival in Tashkent, our guide/driver meets you at the main waiting area of the airport and you will be transferred to your hotel. After some rest, you will start the guided tour to the highlights of Tashkent:

  • The immense Chorsu Bazaar;
  • The Kukeldash madrasa;
  • Khastimam complex and the oldest Qur’an (the Coran) publicly available in the world;
  • Place of Independence and Amir Temur Square;
  • The museum of Applied Arts. 

Lunch & dinner in traditional restaurants.

Overnight in Tashkent.


Day 2: TASHKENT –KHIVA 

Early breakfast. Transfer to the Tashkent domestic airport. Flight for Urgench(07:50). Arrival in Urgench (09:10). Transfer to the city of Khiva(35km). Full day trip for discovering the fantastic citadel in Khiva where we will see 3000 years of history, and more than 250 monuments protected by the state and UNESCO.

Khiva is the city of the founder of Algebra, Al Khorezmi.

A complete day dedicated to the highlights tour of Khiva:

  • The West Gate - Ota Darvoza;
  • Kalta Minor - the blue minaret
  • The Ark citadel with its beautiful summer mosque, Reception Hall, and the Observation Tower (climbing to the observation tower is optional);
  • Madrasas Muhammad Amin Khan and Muhammad Rakhim Khan;
  • Mosque Juma;

Option: Before dinner, you can enjoy a Traditional Folklore Dances show in one of the beautiful madrasas of the 19th century.

Day 3: KHIVA

After breakfast, you will continue the visits to the citadel of Khiva. Today you will visit:

  • The palace Tash Khovli with its Harem, Receptions Hall, and Judgement Hall;
  • The caravanserail Allakuli Khan;
  • The mausoleum Pakhlavan Makhmud which proudly has the biggest dome and richly decorated interior;
  • The madrasa and minaret of Islam Khidja;
  • The East Gate & the slave market.

In the afternoon you will have free time which you can use for visiting wood carving workshop, climbing to the minarets for having a view over the citadel or climbing to the top of the Observation Tower, walking on the city walls and walking in the old streets of the ancient city.

Tip: Evening walk in the old city can be one of the highlights of your trip. That's the moments when you will find yourself in the stories of 1001 nights.

Day 4: DRIVE TO BUKHARA (450km, 6-7 hrs)

Breakfast. Drive to Bukhara through the vast desert Kyzylkum. *This transfer can be made by train. The train Khiva/Bukhara is available 3 days a week.

During the drive, you will enjoy the outstanding landscapes of the Kizilkum desert and the panoramic view of the Amudarya River. During the drive, you can have lunch in a typical desert road restaurant.

You will arrive in Bukhara by the end of the day. Your hotel in Bukhara will be in the old city which makes it easy to go out and walk around the monuments. Free time.

Day 5: BUKHARA (visits on foot)

After breakfast, you will start visits to the heart of the ancient Silk Road. The guided tour to the highlights of Bukhara includes:

  • The Samanids mausoleum;
  • Bolo Khauz mosque;
  • Kalon complex;
  • Miri Arab Madrassa (16th century);
  • Ulugbek and Abdilazizkhan Madrassa (17th century);
  • Magoki Attori Mosque (12th century);
  • Lyabi House complex (16th century);
  • Ark Fortress;
  • Chor Minor (19th century).

Option: Dinner with a Music& Dances show in the madrasa Nodir Devonbegi.

Day 6: BUKHARA (visits)

Today you will visit 2 important monuments outside the city of Bukhara, including the Naqshbandi Mausoleum, and the summer residence of Bukharan emirs - Sitorai-Mohi Khosa. In the second part of the day you can revisit your preferred monuments or visit the main workshops of Bukhara: Persian Miniatures workshop of the famous artist Davlat Toshev, Suzani workshop of the craftsman Rahmon Toshev, Oriental Puppets workshop.

Day 7: BUKHARA – SAMARKAND (250 km)

After breakfast transfer to Samarkand by car. Arrival in Samarkand in the afternoon. Transfer to hotel for some free time. After having some rest you will go to see some of the most popular monuments of Uzbekistan:

  • The mausoleum of Tamerlan which is extremely richly decorated with ceramics, mosaics, gold, marble, and jade;
  • The place of Registan with its 3 magnificent madrasas – Ulugh Bek, Tillakori, Sherdor.

Overnight in Samarkand.


Day 8: SAMARKAND - the highlight of your trip

Breakfast. Full day dedicated for visits in the heart of the Great Silk Road – Samarkand. Each monument of the city will amaze you with its beauty and diversity of ornaments. The visits of the day:

  • Shakhi Zinda Necropolis and its 20+ mausoleums;
  • The grandiose Bibi Khanum Mosque and the Bazar Siab (an ideal place for buying dry fruits);
  • The Observatory of Ulugbeg;
  • Samarkand Silk Paper workshop.

Option: Before dinner, you can enjoy the “Traditional Clothes of Central Asia” dance show which can be a beautiful end to the visits in Samarkand.

Day 9: SAMARKAND – KOKAND – MARGILAN (520km)

After breakfast, you will drive towards Ferghana valley through dry steppes and high mountains. Arrival in Kokand (13:30). Lunch in Kokand and then you will visit Khudoyorkhan’s Palace and Jome Mosque.  After the visits, you will take the car for arriving in the city of textiles – Margilan.

Day 10: Margilan – Rishtan – Tashkent

Breakfast. Today you will visit a factory of fabulous silk products – Yodgorlik Silk Factory. In the vast territory of the factory, you will see amazing works on silk as well as cotton. After visiting the silk factory, you will be transferred to Rishtan – the village of ceramists where you will visit the family workshop of a famous Usta-master Rustam Usmanov. 

In the afternoon you will take the road towards Tashkent

Arrive in Tashkent by the end of the day. Transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Tashkent.


Day 11: Flight from Tashkent to …

Transfer to the International Airport of Tashkent…
