The Road trip to Samarkand & Bukhara. Tour program

Day 1: Tashkent

Arrive Tashkent, welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Time for rest. Night in Tashkent

Day 2: Tashkent – Khiva

Breakfast in the hotel. Early transfer to the Domestic Airport to catch a flight HY1051 to Urgench at 9 a.m. Arrive Urgench airport at 10.40 a.m. and drive to Khiva (30 km), hotel check-in. Full day for sightseeing of Khiva – Ichan Kala (XIV-XX CC) with Muhamad Amin khan Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya Ark, Muhamad Rahim khan Madrassah, Djuma Mosque and Minaret, Tash Hauli Palace, Islam Khodja Minaret and Madrassah, Shirgazi khan Madrassah Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum. 

Overnight in Khiva.

Day 3: Khiva – Bukhara (450 km, 8 hrs)

Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Bukhara via the Kizilkum (Red) desert. Currently the road between Khiva and Bukhara is under reconstruction and it will take around 8-9 hours to reach Bukhara from Khiva. Arrive Bukhara, hotel check-in, free time.

Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 4: Bukhara

Breakfast in the hotel. Full day visits in Bukhara: the Ark Fortress (I-XX CC), Bolo Hauz Mosque (XVIII C), Samanids Mausoleum (IX-X CC), Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum (XII-XVI CC), from Poi- Kalyan complex with Kalyan Minaret (XII C) through orient bazaars with three trade domes of Toki Zargaron (XV C), Toki Sarrafon (XVI C), Toki Telpak Furushon (XVI C), Ulugbek Madrassah (XV C), Abdulazizkhan Madrassah (XVII C) to the Lyabi Hauz complex (XVI -XVII CC).

Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 5: Bukhara – Samarkand

Early breakfast in the hotel. At 07:10 a.m. transfer to the railway station to get the fast going train “Sharq”, departing to Samarkand at 08:05 a.m. Arrival in Samarkand at 11:10 a.m., check in to the hotel. Full day sightseeing of Samarkand includes the visits to Gur Emir Mausoleum (where conqueror Amir Temur (Temurlane), famous Registan Square (with Madrassa Sherdor XVII century, Tilla Kori and Ulugbek XV century), remains of grandiose Bibi Khanum Mosque, Samarkand oriental bazaar, Shokhi Zinda Nekropole (important pilgrimage place in Samarkand).

Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 6: Samarkand – Tashkent, (356km, 3,5 hrs)

Continue sightseeing Samarkand: Ulugbek Observatory (XV C), Excavation of an ancient city and museum of Afrosiyab, Tombstone of Saint Danyar. And if the time will be available visit “Samarkand-Bukhara Silk Carpets” factory, where you can observe the whole process of weaving silk carpets based on “handmade” technology. At 16:20 transfer to the railway station to get the fast going train “Afrosiyob”, departing to Tashkent at 17:00. Arrival in Tashkent at 19:10. Transfer to the hotel. Night in Tashkent.

Day 7: Tashkent

Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Tashkent to the old and new parts of the city: Amir Timur Square, Theatre Square with the Opera House, Applied Art Museum, Earthquake Memorial, Abdul Kasim Madrassah and AlisherNavoi National Park, Independence Square, Khast Imam Square – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah, KaffalShashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century. Night in Tashkent.

Day 8: Depart Tashkent

Early breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport and depart Tashkent.
