Day 1. ARRIVAL IN UZBEKISTAN

On arrival in Uzbekistan, our guide/driver will meet you at the airport with a board, written your name/s. If you come early and want to have a rest at your hotel, you will be transferred to your hotel. After you get some rest and breakfast, you will start the private guided tour of Tashkent.

Recommended places to visit in Tashkent: the historical Khastimam complex, the Chorsu bazaar, Memorial of the Victims of the Great Repression, the Museum of History, the Central Asian Plov Center, park Amir Temur & Mustakillik Maidoni.

You can visit any of these attractions or more with your personal driver and guide in Tashkent.

Day 2. DRIVE TASHKENT – SAMARKAND (290km)

After breakfast, you will take a drive towards Samarkand through the Steppes of Hunger and the beautiful landscapes of the Gissar mountains. You will arrive in Samarkand by midday. In the afternoon you can start visiting the monuments of Samarkand with your driver and guide.

This afternoon, we recommend visiting the mausoleum of Amir Temur (Tamerlan) and the majestic place of Registan. Well narrated stories of your guide and the quality of the decorations will prove once again that you are in Samarkand, in the heart of the ancient Silk Road.

Bonus from your Guide Driver: in the evening we invite you to a Samarkand by Night tour to see the beautiful monuments of the city illuminated in different colors.

Day 3. SAMARKAND (visits)

Full day for visiting Samarkand: Bibi Khanum mosque, Shakhi Zinda necropolis with its richly decorated 20+ mausoleums, the Ulugh Beg observatory, Saint Daniel mausoleum, the Afrosiab archaeological site, the mosque of voyagers – Khazret Khizr and Samarkand Silk Paper workshop in a small village near Samarkand.

Tip: Samarkand has so many small, typical eateries. If you want to taste the real flavors of Samarkand, your Driver Guide will recommend you some hidden gems.

Day 4. SAMARKAND – SHAHRISABZ – BUKHARA (370km)

In the morning, you will take a drive to ancient Bukhara through Shahrisabz. Shahrisabz has one of the UNESCO sites of Uzbekistan that was built 600 years ago by Amir Temur. After a nice 1,5 hour drive through charming views of the Takhtakaracha mountain pass, you will arrive in Shahrisabz. The places for guided visits on Shahrisabz are:

  • The crypt of Tamerlane and tombs of his sons;
  • The beautiful mosque Kok Gumbaz – Blue Dome with mausoleums of saints;
  • The ruins of the Ak Saray – White Palace.

After the visits to Shahrisabz, you will continue the drive to Bukhara. You will arrive at your hotel in Bukhara by the end of the day. Free time at your hotel. In the evening, you can take a short walk in the old city with your guide for exploring the area around your hotel.

Day 5. BUKHARA (visits)

Today you will have a great walking tour in the old city of Bukhara with your guide. Bukhara has so many things to do, it seems that one day will not be enough. However, with perfect planning of your Tour Guide, you can easily visit all the best places of the city.

Recommended monuments to visit in Bukhara: the mausoleum of Samanids, Bolo Khauz mosque with beautiful carved and colored wooden pillars, the Ark citadel, Lyabi Lhauz, and Kalon architectural complexes, the oldest mosque of Bukhara – Magoki Attori.

Based on your preferences, your tour guide can recommend you the best places to eat.

Day 6. BUKHARA, the palaces

Today you will continue the guided visits in Bukhara. You will take a short drive to visit the monuments outside the city center.

The recommended monuments to visit:

  • Naqshbandi mausoleum;
  • Chor Bakr necropolis;
  • Iconic madrasa of Bukhar – Chor Minor;
  • The summer residence of the emirs of Bukhara.

Day 7. BUKHARA – KHIVA (450km)

Drive to Khiva through Red Desert – Kyzylkum. This drive will show you how diverse the landscapes of Uzbekistan are. On the road, you can stop for enjoying a panoramic view of the Amu Darya River and for having lunch in a typical desert teahouse.

On arrival in Khiva, you will make a short walk in the old city to have the first impressions and to see the places where you can have dinner.

Day 8. KHIVA (visits)

 Today you will have another great day of private guided visits. You will have all your time to gaze in the Ichan Kala citadel of Khiva. The minarets, palaces, Harems, madrasas, and mosques are all located in the walled citadel.

The recommended places for a tour in Khiva:

  • The Ark citadel;
  • The blue minaret – Kalta Minor;
  • Juma Mosque and its 213 perfectly carved wooden pillars;
  • The mausoleum of Pahkawan Mahmud;
  • East Gate with the old slave market and the Caravanserai;
  • The minaret and madrasa of Islam Khodja;
  • The Madrasa Muhammad Rahim Khan.

You should also consider climbing to the observation tower in the Ark citadel which offers a fantastic panoramic view over the citadel.

Day 9. THE ANTIQUE CITADELS AND TASHKENT

After breakfast, you can visit the Tash Khovli Palace and its Harem. After the visits, you will take the car to go to Ellikkala (85km) where you will visit some of the ancient citadels that were once the centers of great empires. The recommended visits: Ayaz Kala citadel, Toprak Kala, and Kizil Kala.

After the visits, you will be transferred to the airport of Urgench (50km) to take a flight to Tashkent. On arrival in Tashkent, our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Depending on the time of your international flight we will organize your transfer to the International Airport of Tashkent.
