Day 1: Tashkent
Arrive Tashkent, welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Time for rest. Night in Tashkent.
Day 2: Tashkent – Khiva
Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Tashkent to the old and new parts of the city: Amir Timur Square, Theatre Square with the Opera House, Applied Art Museum, Earthquake Memorial, Abdul Kasim Madrassah and Alisher Navoi National Park, Independence Square, Khast Imam Square – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah, KaffalShashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century. At 18:00 transfer to the train station for taking the train Tashkent – Urgench (19:30). Overnight in the train.
Note: train transfer has been an interesting part of a Uzbekistan family tours because it gives a huge possibility to meet the locals and start discovering a different culture. Though, this option can be replaced with a Plane Transfer following your wish!
Day 3: Arrival in Urgench/Khiva
You will arrive in Urgench train station at 12:30. Transfer to the hotel in Khiva (30 km), hotel check-in. Half day for sightseeing of Khiva – AM sightseeing including visits to the inner town of Ichan Kala (XIV-XX CC) with Muhamad Amin khan Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya Ark, Muhamad Rahim khan Madrassah, Djuma Mosque and Minaret, Tash Hauli Palace. PM sightseeing for 2 hrs: Islam Khodja Minaret and Madrassah, Shirgazi khan Madrassah Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum. Night in Khiva.
Day 4: Continuation of the visits in Khiva
After breakfast you will continue the visits in Khiva. Option: You can enjoy a Master-class of preparation of the Uzbek National food Plov in one of the family restaurants of the citadel. In the afternoon you will have free time for walking in the streets of old Khiva, for climbing the minarets etc. Night in Khiva.
Note: climbing the observation tower in Khiva and seeing a tradititonal dance show in Ichan Kala citadel are considered as some of the Top Sights & Attractions in Khiva for families.
Day 5: Khiva – Bukhara (450km)
Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Bukhara via the Kizilkum (Red) desert (460 km, 9 hrs). Currently the road between Khiva and Bukhara is under reconstruction and it will take around 8-9 hours to reach Bukhara from Khiva. Arrive Bukhara, hotel check-in, free time. Night in Bukhara.
Note: the Lyabi Khauz place in Bukhara is the liveliest place of the city where all younger families of Bukhara come in the evenings and this is one of the best places where all your family will find some great fun activities to do.
Day 6: Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Full day in Bukhara. AM portion of city tour for 4 hrs with visits to the Ark Fortress (I-XX CC), Bolo Hauz Mosque (XVIII C), Samanids Mausoleum (IX-X CC), Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum (XII-XVI CC), Poi- Kalyan complex with Kalyan Minaret (XII C) through orient bazaars with three trade domes of Toki Zargaron (XV C), Toki Sarrafon (XVI C), Toki Telpak Furushon (XVI C), Ulugbek Madrassah (XV C), Abdulazizkhan Madrassah (XVII C) to the Lyabi Hauz complex (XVI -XVII CC). Option: you can have an unforgettable dinner with a local family in Bukhara. Night in Bukhara.
Day 7: Bukhara – Nurata – Sentab/Ukhum (260km)
After breakfast you will enjoy a long drive to the mountainous village Ukhum/Sentab through Nurata. On the road you can visit the Raboti Malik Sardoba, Chashma architectural complex in Nurata. You can have a lunc in a traditional family. In the afternoon you will continue the road to Sentab. Note: Nurata is close to the biggest lake of Uzbekistan Aydarkul and if the weather will be good you can go for swimming in the lake before going to the village. Arrival in Sentab by the end of the day. Overnight in a Guesthouse.
Day 8: Sentab – Samarkand (270km)
After breakfast you will depart towards Samarkand. Arrival in Samarkand in the afternoon, check in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight in Samarkand.
Day 9: Samarkand
Full day sightseeing of Samarkand includes the visits to Gur Emir Mausoleum (where conqueror Amir Temur (Temurlane), famous Registan Square (with Madrassa Sherdor XVII century, Tilla Kori and Ulugbek XV century), remains of grandiose Bibi Khanum Mosque, Samarkand oriental bazaar, Shokhi Zinda Nekropolis (important pilgrimage place in Samarkand). Night in Samarkand.
Day 10: Samarkand – Tashkent, (280km, 3,5 hrs)
Continue sightseeing Samarkand: Ulugbek Observatory (XV C), Excavation of an ancient city and museum of Afrosiyab, Tombstone of Saint Danyar. And if the time will be available visit “Samarkand-Bukhara Silk Carpets” factory, where you can observe the whole process of weaving silk carpets based on “handmade” technology. In the afternoon transfer to Tashkent. Night in Tashkent.
Day 11: Depart Tashkent
Early breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport and depart Tashkent.
